Les Paul Google Logo Playable Guitar Strings [Notes & Picture]

In honor of musician Les Paul (1915-2009), Google has replaced its multicolor doodle with guitar strings that you can strum.  Click on the doodle and it will bring up search results for all things Les Paul.  Google also wrote in a blog post about the guitar logo.  It would have been Les Paul’s 92nd birthday today.

Since it is not a traditional guitar I created a graphic (below) showing the notes for each string on the doodle.   You can get creative with the strings.  The D and E notes on the top left make a Cmaj7 chord when strummed together.   For those feeling creative enough to work out songs on the doodle, you can press the record button at the bottom of the doodle to record your masterpieces and again to generate a URL you can send to friends.  Email any of your top songs using the doodle to technology@huffingtonpost.com as the Huffington Post is picking a winner for the best Les Paul doodle song. Here is my recording of Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here….or at least my attempt.  http://goo.gl/doodle/cFtpy

Happy Birthday Mr. Paul and thank you for all you gave us!!!
